MouthPad (Augmental)

Computer access

MouthPad by Augmental: a clear custom-fit retainer with a gold palate trackpad and small side electronics modules.

Our take

A trackpad that lives on the roof of your mouth is a pretty delightful idea. The MouthPad from Augmental, an MIT Media Lab spin-off, is a custom-fit retainer-like device with a pressure-sensitive trackpad on the palate. Together with head motion and sip gestures, it moves a cursor, clicks, scrolls and drags, and it pairs over Bluetooth with phones, tablets and computers. It weighs about 10 grams and is about 1 mm thick. Public U.S. sales opened in 2026. Our notes list it at about $1,400, plus a dental scan, and each unit is 3D printed from that scan.

Who it may help: People who want to control a phone, tablet or computer with their tongue, head and sip gestures.
