Our take

Your phone camera, but with a narrator. Google says Guided Vision in Gemini Live lets blind and low-vision users share their camera and hear descriptions spoken in real time. What we like about the idea is the second half: it also gives spoken cues for how to reframe the shot, which is handy when you cannot see what the camera sees. It is available for Android 9 and newer, and Google is clear that it is not a mobility aid or a replacement for a white cane. That honesty matters. Think of it as one more tool for describing your surroundings, not a safety system.

Who it may help: Blind and low-vision people who use Android phones.
