Our take
Picture getting out your own front door without asking anyone. The Open Sesame Model 133 is made for that: at the touch of a button it releases the latch, opens the door, holds it, then closes it again. What stands out is the choice of triggers. Open Sesame lists a handheld or wheelchair-mounted remote, push pads, a proximity tag and a switch for very limited hand use. The hold-open time runs from 5 to 30 seconds, and the door can still be opened by hand. If you rent, ask your landlord first. We keep one in our Equipment Library for in-person demos only.
Who it may help: People who find it hard or impossible to unlatch, pull or push a door on their own, including power wheelchair users and people with limited hand or arm strength.
