Computer access

PRC-Saltillo Genesis AAC speech-generating device: a black rugged tablet on a kickstand on a countertop, touchscreen showing a vocabulary grid with Good morning in the message window; no people in the photo.

Our take

A communication device is your voice, so the details matter. PRC-Saltillo announced Genesis in mid-September 2026 as a new generation of speech-generating devices, in 13-inch and 16-inch Windows sizes. What stands out is the angled three-inch partner display, so a conversation partner can follow your scrolling message. Access options include an eye tracker, a head tracker, wired and wireless switches, TouchGuides and keyguards. Vocabulary options include Unity and LAMP Words for Life. U.S. trial and purchased units are scheduled to start shipping in October 2026. Contact a PRC-Saltillo AAC consultant about funding and local options.

Who it may help: People with complex communication needs, including ALS, cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injury, and the people who support them.
