Seating & Positioning

Ride Designs wheelchair cushions: contoured foam seating cushions shown as product photography.

Our take

A good cushion quietly decides how your whole day feels. Ride Designs, a branch of Aspen Seating, makes wheelchair cushions meant to move pressure and shear away from high-risk bony areas while supporting more tolerant tissue. What stands out is the range. The Java is a lightweight, pre-contoured option with a vented base and a spacer-mesh cover, with listed sizes of about 14 to 20 inches and a 350 lb capacity. Ride Custom 2 is individually shaped from a scan for more complex postural needs. Everything is ordered through Ride-certified providers. This is a pointer to the manufacturer, not an item in our Equipment Library.

Who it may help: Wheelchair users who need skin protection and sitting stability, fitted with a Ride-certified provider.

This is our own summary based on the manufacturer’s information and our Tech Guide notes. We are not a seller, we have not been paid to write it, and it is not medical advice. Talk with your clinician before you choose equipment.
