Our take
A handbike and a recumbent bike in one: that is the BerkelBike Pro, and it is a lot of fun to describe. Turning the hand grips moves the foot pedals with them, so you can share the work across arms and legs, or pedal with your legs only and use the grips as handlebars. It is built for outdoor riding, can have electric pedal assist, and can be combined with FES so paralyzed legs join in. The bike disassembles for car transport. BerkelBike also makes Connect, which attaches to your own wheelchair. We keep one in our Equipment Library for in-person demos only.
Who it may help: People who want an outdoor ride that shares the work between arms and legs, including riders who use FES.
